Finally - More Photos at Flickr

While I have been posing photos at the Grace flickr site, I finally added a few more to my own. I took these on New Years Day at Oakview Cemetery. I've got to get the one with my truck in it up there.
As for displaying the stream here, I have yet to figure out how to get more to display here.

-Ah, there they are now.

Progress!

New Years’ resolutions have always seemed kind of contrived to me. I need to get my act together pretty much everyday. Anyway, In light of the new year I have made some progress with a Grace Flickr (Photos at Grace) account in addition to my own.

I’m adding a few links today (When I can figure it all out). There is one to the Grace Blog, and to Photos at Grace. There should be a section somewhere that I can put these all together. Also – Check out Cinnamon Cindy photos. Her consistency and quality at Flickr is a major reason I took a second look at using them. Note that her work needs a just a bit of discretion in viewing. At worst it's like browsing underwear ads.

There are three things that are breathing down my neck. In no particular order; I need to find a way of getting my sports photos available to the public through the Internet. The album idea is a hassle and expensive. I’m toying with Shutterfly but I don’t really like their pricing model. Second, I’ve got to work on my technique. Over exposure is still a problem and there is so much to learn about that D80. Finally – post processing is another hurdle. I would like to start working with Photoshop, but I’m determined not to use a pirated copy of it. And silly, completist Greg will not be happy with just elements, not to say I would not start with it.

Merry Chrirstmas

Merry Christmas.
There is now a Slide Show running with photos from my flickr account. This took a while to figure out (It took so long In fact, that I was getting to the point of wondering what I was doing working in IT!). Ironically, the nonsensical numbers in my flickr URL were what Blogger needed to 'See' my flicker account. You can see the result to the right.

I've got to get a few more photos up there...

This is a link to the account I created on Flickr. I called it Greg Stewart's Photos to keep things easy. Here is a link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21356401@N06/.

I imagine there is some clever way to get a URL to my Flickr page without the senseless numbers - but for now, if you click on the link you will see my single photo. Comment!

Ok - I have finally got my own blog and have to thank Amie Kelp since she had the link to Blogger.com in her email signature. You can check her blog out here: http://rubyloop.blogspot.com/.

Now I can do something with the photos that I like. I still would like a photo hosting service as I imagine space here is somewhat limited. I've looked at Slide.com - but to actually see the photos you leave the blog. Then, within the Slide.com site there is easy access to other slide shows - any side shows - who knows what slide shows...
I checked out MyPhotoAlbum.com, Picasa.com, and Flickr. After a very brief look around I made the following below. I like Flickr at this point and will get a link here directly.

Flickr is solid. I came across some pros pretty right off. The security features are what I'm looking for and you don't need an account to see photos.

Picasa looks good as well. The content does not seem to be up to par with Flickr. Maybe I didn't look around enough.

MyPhotoAlbum wants you to sign up before you can see pictures, but you can have prints made directly from the site.
