Merry Chrirstmas

Merry Christmas.
There is now a Slide Show running with photos from my flickr account. This took a while to figure out (It took so long In fact, that I was getting to the point of wondering what I was doing working in IT!). Ironically, the nonsensical numbers in my flickr URL were what Blogger needed to 'See' my flicker account. You can see the result to the right.

I've got to get a few more photos up there...

This is a link to the account I created on Flickr. I called it Greg Stewart's Photos to keep things easy. Here is a link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/21356401@N06/.

I imagine there is some clever way to get a URL to my Flickr page without the senseless numbers - but for now, if you click on the link you will see my single photo. Comment!

Ok - I have finally got my own blog and have to thank Amie Kelp since she had the link to Blogger.com in her email signature. You can check her blog out here: http://rubyloop.blogspot.com/.

Now I can do something with the photos that I like. I still would like a photo hosting service as I imagine space here is somewhat limited. I've looked at Slide.com - but to actually see the photos you leave the blog. Then, within the Slide.com site there is easy access to other slide shows - any side shows - who knows what slide shows...
I checked out MyPhotoAlbum.com, Picasa.com, and Flickr. After a very brief look around I made the following below. I like Flickr at this point and will get a link here directly.

Flickr is solid. I came across some pros pretty right off. The security features are what I'm looking for and you don't need an account to see photos.

Picasa looks good as well. The content does not seem to be up to par with Flickr. Maybe I didn't look around enough.

MyPhotoAlbum wants you to sign up before you can see pictures, but you can have prints made directly from the site.
